MARIA THE LEPER

Even in the soul
of darkness
lies a spectral
glow
Cosmic
fate does not
show
But;
god within
eyes of
a child knows

A poetic pause
as it clambers…
grows
Shot by a 14 month
old child a moment,
Morbid,
Morose

Encapsulating
text-less prose;

Maria the leper
lady silent
foreboding
doomed
in tattered
clothes

Eyeless sockets
leprous nose,
yet held her pose

A trampled
rose

As the
image
held in the
palm of this
child instantly
froze ..
What came first the camera?
 The vision?
Thought imposed?
Giving birth to a photo unopposed!

A poem by my friend;

Firoze Shakir
